Meet Darlene the Dalmatian

"Darlene has become a focal point in our household. No one comes into the house without being greeted and for family she reserves a smile. Darlene is not what a lot of people think of, when thinking of a Dalmatian. We have been met with, “Oh, they are not friendly dogs”, “Aren’t they aggressive?”, “They have a lot of energy”, and my favorite “They are not good with kids”. That has not been our experience in the least. Darlene is intelligent, wonderful with kids, and an obedient puppy that you could ask for. If Darlene had to write part of her own bio, it would read “Hi, my name is Darlene and I enjoy long walks from the couch to my food bowl.” She is what you would call a lazy dog. She does enjoy running in the field with our Standard Poodle and playing with the kids, a little of that goes a long way for her. She is currently working on heeling on the leash and basic obedience. She is very food motivated and Seems very eager to please. She is great with our farm animals and other dogs. She is a big cuddle bug with her family. She is wary of new people, but eventually comes around. She does not bark much and would really like to spend her days on the porch in the sun or laying on the couch if her family is nearby. She loves to go for car rides and camping. She has become such a big part of our family in the short amount of time we have had her, we cannot imagine Not having her around. My husband had grown up with Dalmatians and I have never been around them. After researching the breed and going onto the AKC website, we found LINY Dalmatians and put a deposit on a puppy. We drove the 11 hours to Long Island, New York to pick up our girl. It was the best decision we ever made. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful family companion."
